Make the switch to sustainable packaging

One of our core values is sustainability. Whether you have set a goal to become net zero carbon, or you are simply doing your bit as a business to reduce your environmental impact, it is our mission to help you make the packaging you use more eco-friendly. To help you understand how our products are sustainable, we have added some icons to each product page as below:

When we say "Biodegradable", it means certified compostable so that it breaks down naturally and doesn't let off harmful substances.

Our products are made from paper-based materials which can all be recycled. These can be tossed into your recycling bins for use again.

A lot of our products are made with recycled paper, meaning they are very even more environmentally friendly. These products can also be recycled again.

The FSC, or Forestry Stewardship Council, manage the safe use and harvesting of trees and wood. This is crucial to the environment and they supervise and promote sustainable forest management worldwide. Packaging certified with FSC shows proof that the material for the product used was sourced sustainably.

The PEFC are an organisation who maintains comprehensive databases to ensure everyone has easy access to any needed information about where a product came from, and if the certification on the product is valid. The company allows users to search and find information on certificate holders, logo and label users, certified products, and much more.

The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) helps to certify products to verify that the recycled content within a product is what it claims to be. This is to ensure there are no false reports on the products to mislead the user.

BPI Compostable are a certification organisation which conduct tests on certain products to show the products biodegradability is properly tested and vouched for by the organisation. If the product has been tested by the Biodegradable Products Institute, their badge will show on the packaging.

Similar to BPI, OK Compost are a group who show whether the product is actually compostable. They have 2 levels of biodegradability, the standard industrial certification or the home certification. The difference being the industrial composting products need to be sent off to a commercial composting plant, whereas the Home composting can be composted at home.

Becoming eco-friendly is imperative in today’s world. With 72% choosing sustainable brands, retailers need to do their bit to protect the planet to bolster customer loyalty. The Sustabio mission is to help those brands reduce their environmental impact quickly and easily.
